I am looking to change my wheels asap for 16" wheels preferably elite style from my current CD level 15" alloy wheels.

What do I need to do to get the speedo reading accurately as I have read that it can increase/decrease on the speedo so it could be a case of your doing more or less than you think, not sure if there is any truth but confirmation would be much appreciated.

Would it be a tech2 job to recallibrate?

simply fit the proper size tyres that vauxhall reccomend...... not sure what they are but this keeps rolling radius the same more or less so no speedo problems......

e.g on 17in wheels tyre size is 235/45/17's but you could put 265/40/17's on back as they basically same radius at fronts ... as fronts are 643.3mm and rears would be 643.8mm!!!!
there would be no speedo issues.

Currently in talks over a set of early elite wheels so I maybe lucky.

BoBo i'm guessing the tyre size you quoted is from your current wheels. Cheers for that :y shall see about getting tyre prices

Being that mine is only a 4 pot 2.0 what speed rating would be required not sure what they are at the moment, want to make sure I put the right tyres on if the wheel sale goes my way.

if top speed is over 118 mph you'll need V rated possibly even to conform to insurance requirements.

IIRC yours are probably 205/65/15 so as Bo Bo says if you fit 225/55/16 you should be OK

I'd go for V rated.  I believe in the owners manual where it gives pressures it also gives the speed rating.
