Just like to thank the expertise on this site yet again for the advise on different issues.

Have managed to change both front wheel bearing assy's on my 2001 Omega 2.2, changed front pads at the same time and managed to do this without breaking the brake wear sensor on N/S brakes.

I was quoted £60+ VAT for each bearing assy, managed to get these from Sutton Auto factors
for £27.50 ea plus VAT !Bargain!, took around 2 hours to fit both!

The genuine ones are stupidly expensive, so I have a pattern one on the MV6...

I know!  :( I just never gave pattern parts a thought when I paid Vx £100 for mine!!!  :o
 & the car still sounds like a bag of spanners when it sees a slight bump in the road! I think I ought to look under it some time but I really seem to struggle to find the enthusiasm to do anything to it.  :-?

I did get the Vx ones which are £70 each on TC, but I should probably not have bothered since the original ones only lasted 50k on my car - so it is not obvious where the extra £40 goes into - certainly not built quality...

Wheel bearing failure is very rare.....only VERy occasionaly seen it happen on very high mileage cars and even then it tends onl to be the one side....

Note, thre appears to be only one manufacturer of front hub asemblies....so the cheaper ones are more than likely the same as the pricey ones...
