Auto Gearbox - Fluid Change
« on: 30 April 2007, 07:27:21 »

Can anyone please tell me? I'm planning on changing the oil in my auto gearbox, filter clean etc, What's the best solvent to clean the filter with...  Celulose Thinners???  also after refitting the sumps, how much Dex III will be required to bring back to the correct level....

I use a general parts wash solution....even white spirits works quite well....thinners might be a bit to nasty on the plastic!

Genrealy it takes about 5 litres to re-fill the box afterwards....use the same loctite sealent as described in the diff oil change rather than gaskets.....
