Fault code 22
« on: 04 May 2007, 13:11:50 »

After a bit of sweating and swearing have now managed to replace crank shaft sensor..worst bit was treading new cable as they dont allow much spare..anyway job done and car now runs a bit better ....have checked fault codes and still have 22 showing ..throttle sensor...could one have knocked out the other or is this just pure coincidence..anyway rang Vauxhalls and after laughing at the price £73.01 decided to be mean and buy one of flea bay..lets just hope that is better..just wondering if anybody else had had similar associated sensor problems

Despite replacing crank shaft sensor car is still running erratic and on any form acceleration other than really gentle eml comes on and gives me fault 22..now I know it is "throttle position sensor"which i am awaiting delivery of a new one..but just want to check:

is it just a straight unscrew/unplug of old one and refit new one
issues with erratic running/rough tickover should be cured with no gearbox warning re-appearing.

has anybody had issues with this sensor before ?

The is the sensor is returning less that 0.1v, so ecu puts in a substitute value of 30 degrees open...

Do you have a multimeter?

no multimeter until tuesday..if ecu is putting in substitute voltage is this causing any otherissues which will need replacing or just ne throttle sensor?

There are some measurements to take to identify why.  If you have a (legal) copy of TIS, its in there.
