Climate Fan operation
« on: 20 May 2007, 14:16:51 »

Has anyone had a simular problem. The climate control fan has gone from intermittant operation to now hardly working at all. The car is a 96 2.5 CDX. It is a pain as without the fan you get neither cold or hot air coming through so I have to open the windows when hot and wrap up warm when cold. The climate panel operates ok and changes the fan speed  even though no operation. Manual control of the fan makes no difference

I suspect your speed controller is fubar.  This happens if you scuttle drain gets blocked, water then overflows into cabin through fan and its controller.

Clear scuttle drain (and keep clear!), and get replacement controller from scrappy...

Thanks. Where is the fan speed controlleer located? Your theory could be right as this has only happened after the recent heavy rain I will check and clear the drain holes in the scuttle.

bolted to side of fan, above passenger footwell (you'll need to remove the card bit above the footwell)
