help 2.0 16v auto unwell....

Hi all wonder if any one can shed some light for me
no warning lights but get knocking noise from engine then lack of power and lots of blue smoke from exhaust. got a mechanic to look at it stone me it wouldnt do it so he surggested clogged injectors
so he gave me some stuff to put in the petrol gave it an oil filter change and drained the old oil and replaced with new new spark plugs air filter also had a complete exhaust system recently ive done 100 mile s since to try to unblock but still doing it any one else had this problem..

blue smoke = oil.  so oil in combustion chamer - worn rings, valve seals...

agree with theboy has to be valves or piston rings,blue smoke ,oil burning, internally inside engine, the plugs will be covered in black oil,check spark plugs :y

I agree too - do a compression test. Piston ring problems will result in initial low reading, getting progressively higher on each crank of the engine. If this happens you can drop a spoon of oil in the offending bore, this should temporarily seal the worn ring and increase the reading. Not conclusive, but a good test to do. If it's consistently the same low pressure in one pot, this can indicate valve trouble.

May end up being a replacement engine - not a bad job at all on the 2.0...

may be better changing engine plenty of second hand 2.0ltrs about ,may be cheaper option :y
