Take it to a big unused carpark and play

Keep the revs up and feather the throttle when the back end comes around and use opposite lock, I had mine sideways the other day and was pleased at how easy it is to control.

Don't just let the revs go in one hit as the back will snap back and feel crap

a great idea....and one that i did when i first passed my test.....

propblem these days is that it is all security patrolled and as soon as someone is seen driving like a hooley the police are called or you are told to go away as this is private property  >:(

Soon be wintertime with snow covered carparks.......  Then you could practice such things without speed, effort, tyre wear or too much risk as long as you think about what you are doing.

Once learned, easily transferable to the road if it all goes Pete Tong one wet day.....   :y

Thank you all so much, loads of tips, in summary:

Good Tyres
Gentle with the clutch and gas
Practice (somewhere safe)
Training (skid pan / Trackday)

I am sure once I have more experience with RWD I will wonder what all the fuss was about, and will e able to "play" confidently.  :y

Obviously, the fastest and safest way is not to lose traction, but it is good to know what to do if you do overcook it a bit....

This is also what I would recomend RWD can be  :) :) :) :).  I came home at midnight on the evening of the last snow shower and had to pass an Asda, the opportunity had to be grasped (again)

It is essntial to put in safe practice first.

Just watch out for the kerbs, bollards and car park lighting poles  ;)

(remember its torque that spins wheels and NOT horse power)

Thats right! BHP is nothing, it's all about the torque.  :y
