Couple of problems
« on: 01 August 2007, 21:40:37 »

First off hello - just discovered this place and thought it would be the best place to source some info :)

Ive just bought myself an Omega Elite & have the following;

The fan for the air con & heater etc stays on - all the time even with the key out! Any idea what the cause would be? atm i have to pull the fuse which is a real pain.

Also where would i find the sim on my car phone? I think its standard - but the only info i can find is its a motorola international 2200

Thanks for any advice!

I suspect the climate panel may be knackered, but could also be an ign problem. Anything else stay on?

The phone isn't a factory item, so no idea, sorry.

heater blower running continuously can be caused by a faulty speed control module, it is a 2" square unit that clips into the blower housing (remove glovebox to get to it).
Lift the plastic grid above the pollen filter (passenger side, just below wiper arm) if there is water at the bottom of this space then the drain in the bottom is blocked, the water builds up and gets into the heater and onto the speed controller......mucky water and electronics dont mix.
You will need a replacement controller from any climate-equipped car......I think there is an Elite being broken on here at mo.
