help me price it
« on: 09 August 2007, 13:49:36 »

to start admin this isn't a for sale thread i do need help

well here's the add but i really don't now were to price it as many of you are aware a real mv6 not a police gls spec'd mv6 in manual are a rare car

facelift 2000 w black saloon mv6 102000 miles with full vauxhall history and manual(very rare)recent new rad, water pump, cool running stat, fully reburbished alloys body work is great but not perfect theres a few niggly bits,

standard spec is xenons, full climate with dual zone control, electric windows x 4 with total closure, recaro cloth interior, auto dim rear view mirror, 17 intra stlyed genuine mv6 alloys (powdercoated in anthricite then diamond cut face absolute mint )

non standard extras, fully tinted by shade ace, irmscher front grill, uprated alpine door speakers, lowered 35 mm on progressive springs, remus slash cut back box, clear side repeaters,

now a few bad points, it has a slight blow on the drivers side exhaust manifold gasket when cold,as allready mentioned the body work is great but not perfect theres a few niggly bits and thats about it.

as i said at the start this is a real mv6 with all the genuine prodrive accessories not a police gls omega with mv6 bits.

and some pics

i did start at 4750 just to test see what was what as i haven't a clue really surley a mv6 like this is worth a few quid more than a cdx or elite of same year and condition ??

please help

Sorry mate but I think it's going to be a bit less. Late pre-facelift MV6s are going for £2k or less, and the prefacelift MV6 is better specced than the facelift model (electric sunroof for one, there are a few others I can't remember). The facelift is more desirable, but a manifold gasket change is a *big* job, so that's going to hurt the resale. It may only be minor at the moment, but it's not going to get any better by itself so will need done at some point.

Being a real MV6 with manual gearbox definitely helps, but I think £4k is a little optimistic. An Omega is certainly not a car to invest in if you care about residuals!

The manifold gasket job is a minimum of 2 hrs for a straight forward job. If the stud/s break you either remove the engine for access to drill out or remove the head. Both very big and long jobs. Please bear this in mind a bit more than i did with mine. (which still is not fixed yet)

The retail facelift MV6 also go quite cheap.  I turned a manal 02 plate down for 2.5k last November, admittedly only a 2.6...
