« on: 09 August 2007, 20:18:00 »

Ahhhhhhhhhhh I cant get my Steering Wheel Back Off

I took it off last weekend to do some checks got it off by putting my knees behind it and hitting the center with a hammer and it popped off no problems. But in putting it back on I was Rushed By The GF to go out and i put it back on not stright Total Bu**er and Now I cant get it back off to put it back on straight and i have hit it over and over with a hammer but no movment at all Grrrrr and i have knacked the nut from hitting it with the hammer that needs replacing.

I think I need a Steering Wheel Puller Does anyone have one ?

Sorry No! But there's one here if you get stuck. Careful you don't burr over the end of the steering column when you're hitting it.

 Hi Craig,
If i were you i would refrain from hitting the column with a HAMMER as i read on here somewhere that the column is made to colapse in an accident and could be damaged by heavy impacts :o.

I'm sure someone on here can verify this in more detail.

    Hope this helps,
                          Pete :y.
