note you need access to a torque wrench capable of 8NM (quite low) - I discovered this when I was reassembling mine :-[.   Its vital not to overtighten the camcover bolts or the bolts that go into the alloy plenum.

Hi,

Is it best to get the camcover gaskets from greenhous or will i get them cheaper from somewhere else?

Also,

Went to shelton auto spares on stoke road today , got 5 litres of gm vauxhall 10/40 semi synthetic oil for £11. Thats cheap isnt it?

So if i get the o rings, camcover gaskets and spark plugs 2moro , when would you be able to give me a hand mate?

p.s  Im very good with computers or mobile phones incase you or anybody needs any help with that?!

Matt  :y

I don't think £11 is bad at all but someone with a TC (trade card) would pay about £5.

You will get told on here to always get Vauxhall Cam Cover Gaskets as the after market ones don't last as long, aren't the right shape exactly etc.... also Vauxhall spark plugs are very good too...
I personally would get the lot from Vauxhall.
Plugs are about £3 each, £55 for all the Cam Gaskets (4) and "O" rings, £6 ish for the Gasket Sealer.
Wouldn't bother yet with your Sump Gasket lets see if this stops it first.
Next weekend I should be able to do it but will need to come up here.

I would degrease engine, then have another look at where it is coming from :)

The SRS light will need a Tech2 to reset.

Hi,

How do i degrease?

Do i just get some degreaser and rub it all over the engine and then jetwash it?

If so what do i cover up that i dont want getting wet?

avoid the jetwash - will do more harm than good.

personally I would just wipe it off as much as possible.  You can get degreaser spray that then washes off either with water and sponge or gentle hose.  The problem is that there are an awful lot of sensors around which could easily be damaged/dislodged etc.  Just my opinion.

I agree with this method - brush/spray on a degreasing agent, wipe with rags, repeat.
