Rev gauge
« on: 31 August 2007, 14:23:22 »

Guys,

I am still wondering if I should change the Crank Sensor on my 2001 2.2 (Z22XE) Omega.

When accelerating hard the rev gauge flickers and box wont make its mind up if its in gear or not!

Read ECU, Cam Sensor P0340 keeps coming up, I have had a new one put in and fault went away, I was speaking to a fellow Omega owner and he cured the same fault by fitting a new crank sensor, although he said it was a pain to do as the Air con pump is in the way!

Am I right to think that engine revs are taken from Crank / Cam sensor positioning?

Only other fault present is the usual P1700 - Can bus error!

Any advice would be great, apart from this the car drives superb!

Tried selling for £2k but no interest as yet!

Cheers
