Now totally fed up with this bl***y car
« on: 07 September 2007, 11:35:42 »

Ok so we read the comments given last night and decided to have another go at reading the eml light this morning hubby went out as normal to start the car and give it a little drive back and for . Ohhhhh no now what the f*** has gone wrong the blooming thing would not tick over properly and would certainly not drive either way (bearing in mind this thing is parked behind out car so we need to move it to get ours out). hubby managed somehow to get it out into the cul-de-sac when it conked again so i had to push this blooming thing over to the side of the road where we have now left it. Have rung idiot and told him to come collect key and get car moved we no longer want it in our driveway it is to much headwork. Thankyou so much to all for your help much appreciated  it is now time this bloke sorted his own problem out.

Ok Now with a new ecu box does it have to have the same number on as the one that is on the car now ? and also if he gets another to put in does it need to be programmed in any way or should it just work straight away. Sorry for so many questions you must be fed up of this by now I know I am lol.

Think the main part number will need to be the same. May be other numbers on which link to other things, which won't matter.

Have a feeling it may need programming (I know keys have to be programmed to the ECU). If it doesn't, your keys/fobs will have to be re-progammed at least.

I'm not an expert, by any means, so will defer to those in the know, if wrong.

If the car has RF remote fobs, imobiliser ecu needs to be programmed to engine ecu.
