I had something very similar on my omega 2.6 a couple of years ago and fortunately for me the car was still under warranty. The main dealer check the system and found that there was no voltage on the climate control management system. Checking the wiring back to a plug and socket, which unfortunately is behind the passanger airbag, was the culprit. So I suggest you check the voltage supply on the control unit.

If the vac hose off the top of the HBV has come off Jamie won't that also make the heaters not warm up?

I believe it will fail in a way allowing coolant through matrix.

Costs less than £30 from a dealer, make sure you get a genuine one (some duds being passed off through dealer network, unfortunately, search the threads here for recent storys).  Straightforward job to do, you do not need masses of engineering ability to do.....  Again, use the search button under the OOF logo at top of the page to find the info.     :y

This is a HBV on a V6 with the arrow pointing to it, its situated behind the cam cover (you can just see the back of the drivers side cam cover in the picture). It is quite easy to get at when the wipers and scuttle panel are off (scuttle panel removal is wipers off, eight black clips (under the windscreen rubber)  that only need turning 90 degrees and a bolt each end.
