After the advice my good old 3.0 V6 went in for the crank sensor change and now seems to have got past the initial problems. Bear in mind we are talking new fuel pums, new pump relay, new fuel filter, new spark plugs and now crank sensor.     Yet when I start her after stanging she still wont fire first turn as she always did in the past ......

On the first turn it still sounds dry , and then on the second a slight spltter and she is off.   No loss of power or other indication of error.

Anyone have any ideas why ?

could it be leaky injectors (is it high miles?) such that the new fuel takes a while to arrive down the line?  Just a thought.

I am interested in this as I suspect similar with my 3.0.  If you pull fuse 18 the car dies instanly, plus there was no leakage of fuel from the fuel rail when I 'depressurised' it prior to removal. - both in contrast to my 2.5 (ran on a couple of seconds after pulling the fuse and gave a squirt of fuel from the valve).
