The LPG saga....

Spent another 30 minutes on the project car today....

Found a sticking solenoid on the main high pressure gas feed, sorted that but, the car still wont idle.

So I clamped the vac feed to the evaporator.........it ran better and would also rev on gas (this is a first!) then POP.....

.....the vac pipe blew off the evaporator and was spewing gas out.!

I suspect that the evaporator hasn't liked getting oil/water mix in it an its buggered an internal seal!

So, does anybody know where you can get a refurb kit for a teleflex/autogas evaporator?

Blimey, you're having as much luck with that as I am with Project Tractor!

If you need a hand on it, just yell, I can normally be up there within an hour.

Took the evaporator apart today.....its full of gunk.

Will give it a good clean and check it out.

Idealy, it wants a new main seal/diaphram.

Very simple thing though!

Ive taken one apart before.....agree...not very complicated....i gave it to James....in bits as spare parts  ;D .....dunno if he's still got it and theres anything you can salvage or get it back together and use that evapourator instead  :-/ Vx dealer said it wouldnt adjust pressure..... :-/

Told you to clean it!

Glad it looks like the problem

The gunk is mainly the smell stuff (stench agent)

Right, its all cleaned and back together, no sign of damage to the main seal/diaphram and a little sealent applied aorunf the mating surface.

But, the main lever that works off the engine vaccum and operates a valve type assembly on the main gas feed to the unit was solid, so was the drilling that fed the gas pressure sensor.

Re-assembled it and.............it works great.....drives ok to  ::)

A small miss fire on petrol and gas which I suspect is a lead....easy enough to sort.

So good news.....and something I think James should do to his to.

My Evaporator?

Do you have any pics/detailed advice?

Maybe I can bring it up on Saturday  ::)

It is.....I have spent most of the day doing bloody power point slides for work so needed a 'car fix'!

I've spent all day doing some programming, so I really need a car fix.  Only, I'm not brave enough to do the next step on the tractor ;D
