hi guys im getting code 31 crank sensor no signal. any ideas on the probable cause?? new sensor needed?? the car hesitates on acceleration would this tie in with the crank sensor???

hey,
i done a little research and found its something to do with the Engine RPM. Something to do with the signal.
I dont know how to fix it but thats what i found,

my need a little research but belive if you r engine isnt running will show rpm error possibly only on a v6??

was this off a paperclip test?

31 is non conclusive if engine not running.  If a V6, do test again with engine running. If no 31, then its OK, if the car won't start, inconclusive (v6 won't start without crank signal).

A 19 is the one that definately means knackered crank sensor

oooh starange :-* yes its a 2.5 v6 even when engine is running it still shows code 31.

crank sensor is vital , change it, anyway not expensive..

Not something I've seen before.  31 is no rpm signal. No rpm signal results in no spark or fuel on v6...

Change the sensor anyway...
