Cough at idle
« on: 18 October 2007, 21:50:00 »

I have had on odd occasions the revs sink then rise at idle, both in drive and neutral.
When i done all the gaskets and breather system etc.. i also cleaned out the IACV.
Do you think its still the IACV at fault??/
All the intake ststem had new o'rings and gaskets fitted and were all torqued down to the correct settings.
Any comments most welcome, the car is a 2.5 Elite.
Just to add the car runs very well indeed and is alot more resonsive than most i have driven before.
TIA.

Yes, i cleaned nd lubed, the thing that puzzles me a little is the fact that it runs/idles perfectly most of the time. :-/

This was the list I've done and  problem lost.
As it was intermittent dont know what effect too much. But mostly corrected after lambda change..

Lambda sensors

the box that the vacuum cables connect down behind the two air inlet tubes (the connection was broken)

Egr connection gasket in both sides up and down (mine is blocked)

alternator full service as it has turning parts

cam sensor

Hope these will give idea..
