Throttle Postion Sensor What Type ?
« on: 26 December 2007, 14:16:58 »

I have just refueled my car and notised that it had used to much fuel for the trip up north so i plugged in the computer to the LPG ECU and i dont know why the LPG ECU had reset its self to default Grrrr
I have changed most of the setting back to what they should be but on one of the settings its asking what type of TPS it is and i dont know.

the options are + or - types
The Plus type reports the TPS is 0degs at idle and increase as the throttle is incressed
The minus type reports the TPS at 80degs at idle and as you open the throttle the degs go down

Which kind is on a 2.0l ecotec engine ? i have searched the web but cant find anything about it  :-?

Its a positive type....i.e. the voltage from the signal pin creases with the throttle opening...

Just changed the TPS setting on the LPG ECU and the voltage gos up from 0.12v at idle with it set to either Plus or Minus the only difference is the Degs starts at different levels The plus From 0 degs going up and the minus starts from 80degs and gos down.

Is this related to the angle of the butterfly in the throttle body do you think ?

As the throttle bodies on the V6 are at a different angle to the 4Pot.

Since the butterfly on the 4 Pot is closed at 90 degress and would be WOT at about 10 degree's meaning the butterfly would decrease in degree's with the butter fly opening.

But the V6 the butterflys would start closed at 0 Degree's and Be WOT at 80 or 90 degree's because they are mounted at a different angle to the 4 pot.

I wonder if this would make a difference to the LPG ECU even though the Voltage go's up from 0.12 volts with either plus or minus TPS
