Retro Fitted Elite Leather and Door Panels into CD
« on: 30 December 2007, 18:21:52 »

How easy to replace my 2.5TD CD Estate (pre Face Lift) interior with a full leather Elite Estate interior (my Drivers seat is U/S and really doing my Back in).

Never had an Elite so heres my questions.

The Front Elite seats are fully electric, will these work from any existing wiring that’s already in my CD?

My CD already has Heated Fronts so hopefully no prob’s there, the Rear Elite seats are also heated, so again any existing wiring already in the CD? (no big deal really if they don’t get Heated).

Where are the switches (and Relays) for the heated rears, is it an easy retro fit?

Anything else I should or need to know about, I can get my hands on the Elite leathers and door cards for about £100 so probally worth doing in my book (and my Back).

Thanks Chris.

go for an interior with the same spec, side airbags etc, it will make it easier for you.
if it is a prefacelift elite you have got the interior from then it should be a straight swap, i am not sure about the seat memory though, but so long as there is power then you should have full elec movement.
same with the seat heaters, if you have them then it should be plug and play

good luck

Rear electrics I believe are there...up to a point, you will need the final wiring assembly that actually plugs into the seats from the elite...the switches are either side of the rear cigarette lighter so you will need that, easy to swap over, not sure if the wiring is there for the switches or not...I really am not sure if all the wiring is there for the front seats, heated seating should be fine as already there, rest well if not as said, just need to get power to the right place and voila!

as said, get ones that match yours from an airbag point of view.  The memory stuff probably wont work, but the electric parts just need 12v

Hi,

Yea, forgot to mention the Elite Leather Interior is also coming from a pre face Lift (same as mr pre face CD), so no seat Air Bag involved,

Just wanted to get a gut feel, before I started to rip things apart, and was what wiring may or may not be pre installed.

Not too worried about the seat memory thing, as long as there adjustable.

The 12V bit I can handle. just thought something might already be there before I start installing cables.

So, its looking good, will have a bash over the next few days and let you know how I get on.

Thanks Chris.

Seat memory and adjustment can be made to work with minimal wiring.

You need the short loom with the rear seats (it runs from the heater to a connector near the C post) to get the heating working, the rest of the wiring is already there including the wiring to the switches.

You also want the switches and the little bit of trim they sit in.

I'm assuming the Memory thing must be a seperate box of tricks somewhere?, where is it located, can it be added at a later date or is best tackled on the upgrade?

The heated rear seat fitment is a piece of cake the switch connectors sit under the centre armrest in the middle just remove the rear Ciggy lighter and replace with the facia that has the two switches for the rear inc Ciggy lighter.

Make sure the loom for the rear comes with the relays as I had the misfortune of someone selling the loom only cheeky beggers the loom and relays for the rear clip under the rear bench to the metal and the loom plugs into the connector under the passenger side rear visible when you lift the rear seat up.
