Breather Box 3.2 L
« on: 09 January 2008, 21:31:38 »

Hi All,
I have just changed oil & filter and used Forte engine flush, and have followed advice in How To and cleaned out breather tubes etc on top of plenum, and the throttle butterflies etc. Loads of crud, took two tins of Carb cleaner.
Didn't have time to get to cleaning the large and small hoses going down to the breather box, access looks very difficult to get clips undone, let alone put back.
How is the breather box fixed to the crankcase ? Is it practical to remove it for a thorough cleaning ?
Any one tried this?

Roger

Removing the metal box is very very fiddly, not sure it's worth it.

As for the y-tube, you may get better access if you remove the scuttle, but the best access is with the plenum removed. However, it can be done without removing either if you really put your mind to it. The following picture may help.
