Rear Blind & Auto Dim Rear View Mirror
« on: 23 January 2008, 10:40:28 »

Well I'm wanting to take the rear view blind out of my elite and put it in my CDX.

Looking at the blind I can see it would be best to swap the whole shelf out, has anyone else done this? How easy is it and what do i need to do wiring wise, i have the blank button on the dash display for the blind button.

Same for the auto dim mirror, is it possible to replace my standard mirror with it and how would I wire it in?

Any help would be much appreciated  :y

Yes, take the whole shelf out. The one with the blind will have 3 nuts holding it in place at the back, you can get them from inside the boot. Then it's just a case of folding down the seats and removing the plastic push-in pins, as well as the head rest mounts, holding it in place at the front. Likewise remove the seat belt trim, and the whole thing just pulls forward with a bit of persuasion. The wiring should already be there in the CDX so just plug it in and add the dash switch -- job done.

The mirror is easy too, it just slides downwards. To fit it there are 4 wires you need (well actually only 2 are needed to get it going, the others are to disable dimming in reverse or when the courtesy light is on). You can get 3 of these wires from the courtesy light, so very easy. I can't remember which colours go where, I'm sure someone will be along shortly with that info.
