Can anyone tell me how the accelerator cable unclips from the throttle housing. I did it a few months back and now cannot for the life of me remove it.

I decided not to go to a peugot and to get my girl back on the road. Already got the injection manifold off and in the boot along with everything except the throttle housig and exhaust manifold which is being a git. I want to giv ethe throttle housing a good clean so any help appreciated.

There is a tiny little pin which is in the end of the cable (the ball shaped bit)

You twist the pin which unclips it, and then you can remove the pin. The cable should then pop off.

If your car has cruise control, you will need to remove the little E clip which stops the cruise control cable getting stuck in the accelerator. (will make sence when you see it!)

I thought that, but there does not appear to be any pin in the socket. Will have another look though and make sure tomorrow. Just been outside and its currently minus 4 so came back in.

Sometimes the little spring in the ball moves and prevents it from popping off.
Have a good look to see if this is the case, if it is try and rotateit with a tiny screwdriver so that its no longer in view and then prise off the ball whilst keeping it level, ie:- not twisting it. HTH.

Ok, just braved the cold and took a small needle with me. Found the hole for the spring and pushed the needle through. On pushing it through it pushed a load of dried up oil/grease out and the joint just popped straight off.

Typical since I spent an hour scratching my head trying to remove it yesterday.

Does anyone know if this spring can be purchased seperatly cause could do with fitting one once I rebuild the engine.

You should be able to get one from Vx no probs.
