I wonder if anyone can help, i have a 98 3.0 elite estate at first i had the classic white sludge under the oil filler cap so assumed it was the head gasket,so tried some rad seal stuff that said on the bottle it was strong enough to seal a head gasket so i tried it and no more sludge under the oil filler cap great i thought until a few weeks later i checked the coolant and it was like brown milk shake so i thought that the leak had just gone the other way and the head gasket was putting oil into the coolant instead of the other way round so i keep flushing the cooling system and just waiting for the engine to seize as i cant afford to get the headgasket fixed. But its been several months now and its still going so how is the oil getting into the coolant somebody suggested the oil cooler? is this the cause any ideas?

Oil cooler failure, hence the mayo in the coolant tank......white deposit under the oil filler is normal on the V6 for short journeys and in cold damp weather....

I agree this has happened to me in the last week.  Garage confirmed oil cooler failure. Getting it fixed next week £600 all in inc vat

You could do it yourself much more cheaply, with advice from this forum. Could you not have a go?

To expensive.....the parts are only a ton and its about 3-4 hours work.
