V6 Breather vent housing - access
« on: 06 March 2008, 23:11:20 »

Hello folks,

Anyone know if the breather vent housing (Item 'd' on the maint thread) can be removed / accessed for cleaning? (without removing the engine :))

OR

How can I check that it is clear? I already cleaned the breather box last weekend.

Your opinion please:
Another thought - Is it a good idea to drill and install fittings in both rocker covers to perform a 'better' vent function incorporating a oil separaton filter(Parker/other) that can return the condensed oil vapour and allow fumes to be piped in to the breather/plenum inlet?

Might be cheaper in the long run than replacing R/cover gaskets (and plug leads) in the future

Just a thought, as I plan the job to replace my two shagged rocker gaskets.

Cheers,

P.
