Rough idle after long trip
« on: 17 March 2008, 15:06:49 »

Hi all,
I had unusual prob yesterday.
Car normally runs as sweet as a nut. Idle perfect etc.

Had trip to Nottingham yesterday, and as we got there and into city traffic, idle was lumpy but didn't stall, when pulling away a bit hesitant, engine light flashing then engine picks up and light goes out. Happened a few times.

After visit and back in heavy traffic, absolutely perfect and OK all way back to Southampton, then bit of traffic and same again as in Nottingham.

This morning trip to Portsmouth and back, absolutely perfect idle.

Engine water temp steady as a rock.

Can't paperclip this model, have yet to get simple type code reader.

Has anyone had similar, or any ideas on problem?

Roger

I'd hazard a guess at the crank sensor perhaps?

You need to get the codes read to confirm. I have a reader near Alton if you ever pass by this way?

Pity, you could have called in and I would have read the codes for you.
