Tyre Wear...
« on: 04 April 2008, 19:46:11 »

3rd time posting this, other 2 threads 'vanished'...

I had new tyres fitted to the car last November (Continental PremiumContact 2's), aswell as the geometry sorted.

The previous tyres were all buggered, 3 were like slicks, and the drivers rear had worn to the canvas on the inside edge.

Checked the tyres today, 3 are still like new (very little wear) yet 1 (this time the drivers front) has worn on the inside edge and gone smooth.  It's only the part which curves round to the sidewall though.

eg (* is where its worn)

\*_____/

The rest of the tread is all fine and just like the other tyres, with near 10mm tread depth!

The front wishbones were replaced prior to me buying the car, but as for the droplinks, I don't know...  Would they cause wear like this??

Rather get this sorted out soon than fork out yet more money on tyres which I can't afford...

Cheers
