Cambelt markings??
« on: 05 April 2008, 13:51:56 »

Doing my cambelt today following the dvd.
It shows the new cambelt with white lines marking the positions on it
But my VX belt from the dealers doesn't have any white lines.

Whats the best way to align everything up properly
Please help, mrs needs the mig by 6 o'clock!!

Thanks again

Right.

Get the cams locked and then rotate the crank back by 10 deg or so (use the crank locking tool to do this)

Now put the belt on the crank and lock the left side in position with the belt wedge.

Run the belt up the right side keeping it reasonably tight and thread it round the cam sprockets as you go again keeping it tight until its all on.

Now bring the crank back to TDC and set the tension.

I take it you are using the cam belt locking kit :-/
With all the kit installed you don't need the belt markings ;)
