Seems like a dodgy battery can ..........
« on: 12 April 2008, 21:22:37 »

cause the EML light to stay on all the time!

It had gone off a couple of times but usually it stayed on after starting

When my 2.2 had a fuel pump prob last weekend the battery took a hammering several times.....it was on its last legs anyway.

The last couple of days its been just turning the engine over just fast enuf to start.......so i put a new GO battery on it this morning.

EML was still on.......it was complaing of P0700....which is g/b ecu has fault code.

Tried to reset it with cheapo tech2, but P0700 kept coming back immediately and EML still staying on.

My cheapo tech2 carnt read the g/b ecu, so i popped into my local garage this afternoon to use theirs.

Reading g/b ecu......it complained of P0560, which is input voltage less than 9v.

Reset the code and EML has stayed off since  :y

So it seems to me a dodgy battery can cause a P0560 code to be stored by g/b ecu which in turn causes the engine ecu to flag a P0700 code and put yer EML on.
