Looks more like oil in the plug well rather than being burnt, IMHO....

It means the engine is not burning oil, there maybe a little oil in the hole the plug goes in

Hi,
Oil leaking into the spark plug well. Probably from camshaft cover gasket.

Is the whole of the top of the plug covered in oil? If its just a tiny amount I wouldn't worry about it

It is a VERY good thing if your engine is not burning oil so nothing bad will happen :y :y.

However, oil around the top of the plug means either a leak from your cam covers or you have spilt oil (or somebody else has) onto the top of the engine.  Are any other plugs so affected?

I recommend you wipe clean all the holes and then see if oil forms again around the top of the plugs.  ;)  If it does you do have a small leak somewhere.

Is the oil above 'max' on the dipstick?  If it is by a fair degree, drain some oil off as you should never exceed this limit.

If you recently filled up your engine with oil, then once more I would recommend that you clean out all the plug holes and see if oil re-appears.  If it does then it will be the cam covers.  But eliminate the SIMPLE possible reasons first! ;)

putting to much oil in your engine can do as much damage as not putting enough in.if there is too much in there you should drain some out :y

If your cam cover gaskets are leaking, make sure you thoroughly clean all the breather system, as clogging of this is the usual cause due to excess pressure in the cam chambers.
See the excellent guides in 'Maintenance Guides'.
I believe that overfilling with oil can cause the crankshaft to dip too deeply into the oil and cause it to churn it up almost into a 'froth'. This could cause the pump to struggle and adversely affect the supply to the upper oil galleries. Ideally, the normal level of oil is meant to be just around the bottom of the crankshaft turning area so that splash lubrication can take place, and still leave the oil pump collecting 'unaerated' oil. I'm not sure that excess oil would cause immediate damage, but it isn't ideal.

That looks like a perfectly normal plug to me. It's normal to get a little oily deposit on the thread. If there was oil in the plug well before the plug was removed than it's likely the cam cover gasket needs attention but other than that nothing to worry about.

Overfilling is dangerous it can cause over pressuring in the sump and it can blow gaskets and seals.

Also in extreme circumstances can cause hydraulic locking
