Alarm fault - TECH2 codes??
« on: 07 May 2008, 16:59:24 »

Hi,

Got a problem just start with my 2000 2.5v6 saloon with the alarm going off of all things.

So far tried deactivating interior sensors and unplugging switch under the bonnet. Still no joy :-(

.....and yes all doors and windows are closed.

I'm not sure where to go from here, but I thought I'd read a while back on here that alarm activations were recorded and could be viewed with tech2/paperclip. I'm just about to go give it a whirl and see what I can find, but I've looked for fault code lists of which I found Marks excellent one, but this is missing anything which looks alarm related.

All ideas on a post card :-)

Cheers Simon

Quick update:   Just done paperclip and no faults showing. Maybe one for just the tech2 proper unit as suggested. Interesting one on the flashing light for the sensor.... anyone know if the light tells what was triggered? Cheers for all the advice so far!!

Just checked the alarm indicator light to what it says in the manual and all is as it should be. Doesnt report back on what triggered it sadly

IF alarm codes are stored my guess would be you can only view via Tech2 :-/

AFAIK the alarm needs a "proper" Tech2 to give you that info .. paperclip won't do it .. :(

If I'm wrong an expert will pass by, correct this information, and slap me around the head with a wet trout .....

:)

Have you tried disconnecting the bonnet switch to see if that's causing it?

Just read that you have, diregard.

The light in the switch on the centre console indicates what has caused the trip when you disarm it I believe.
I'm not in the office, and my manual is there so I can't be any more help.

Faults, drivers door solenoid and low voltage on power sounder iirc.
