misfing on 97 x30xe help please

hi there im ed from south coast , im having trouble with me 97 X30XE
 i was worried about the head gasket at first but had a mfella look at it and he said about the coil pack i may need a new one , is this common fault with this model and could it be other problems causing this too any ideas would be very much appreciatewd , thanx for taking the time too look , great site ed

At a guess...leaking cam cover gaskets...causing oil in the oil wells shorting out the plugs in question...if left to long then the leads and ultimately dispack may have been affected...but start from the beginning...

Do a paperclip test, if that shows nothing, then suspect HT side (DIS, leads, plugs).

Additionally, check plug wells for oil, and the intake system for leaks...
