LPG - Inlet manifold question(s)
« on: 24 May 2008, 18:16:42 »

I have a mixer system currently fitted and am considering a front end upgrade to sequential.

Plan A was to get hold of an inlet manifold already drilled for injectors from an already converted breaker.

Plan B is to get the spare manifold I have drilled for me, so, in due course I can just do a swap.

Plan C is to re-drill the manifold already in use.

What I know about these systems could be written in triplicate on the back of half a postage stamp!

So -- the question(s):  Is the hole in my current manifold likely to be in a position to be re-used with a sequential system? If not, can it be plugged ? Or am I looking at using my spare in any event ?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but... You do realise that it will be a complete front end kit you require don't you??? If the single-point is working then you probably wont recoup the expense of upgrading!!  :-? :-? :-/ :-/

Yep, Lazydocker, I realise t'will be the complete front end. DIY will set me back around 6 - 700 ---- I intend to keep the car for quite a while --- and the way petrol is going it's looking more likely to recoup the cost ------ this is a fall back option. At the moment the mixer system isn't going at all well and an upgrade will be cheaper than startimng from scratch.
Ideally I can get the mixer working satisfactorily -- but I am told this is very temperamental on V6's

Just wanted to check!!!  :y :y :y

I'm going to get a spare manifold and have it pre-drilled so I can just whip the old one off and bolt the new one on.  :y :y

Less than that mate.

£450/£500 will get a 6 cyl front end, personally i would get another manifold and have it drilled, or do it yourself, that way you can do a straight swap when you come to do the conversion and minimise time spent on the conversion

Where is the current hole on the manifold? I assume it's just a vacuum take-off which you'll still need. Might need a new pair of bagpipes-to-throttle body hoses if they've butchered them to fit the mixers.
