2.5 v6 cam belt

is it possible to renew cam belt on v6 without using the cam locking kit.

No

The V6 has a concentric idler setup and requires the kit to get the correct timing and tension, it can't be done correctly without.

NO NO NO ..... well at least not properly .. you can always change it .. but the chances of it lining up are slim .. and the expense of the repairs could be more than the car is worth ....

:(

Some folks say you can .. if it were that easy why do all the decent garages buy the right kit ???

Edit .. stick your location in your profile .. there are several members with the kit who may be able to help you out .. IF they knew where you were !!  :)

I would recommend you see the cambelt DVD this website offers, it features OOF's expert mechanic and explains the process step by step.

Definately not.

Whilst you may get it running, you cannot properly time up the cams

thanks for replies i think ill find someone to do it for me. just changed bubs on ecc controls could they cram any more wires into such a small space !
