hi,

just recently noticed the steering seems slightly heavy when driving, checked PS fluid and all seems ok.  Any ideas would be appreciated :exclamation

As I get to near triple figures speed wise the steering gets heavy on my Mig.

Ive always assumed it was like my Supra and it was speed sensitve to stop you over reacting at high speed

I know its a daft question but have you checked your tyre pressure I speak as one who got heavy steering and thought the worst and found my passenger side tyre was way under pressure

if its suddenly got worse particularly at slow speed then it could be a lazy pump.  If on the other hand it is just too heavy for your preference, find someone with Tech2 because if I am correct there are three settings for power assistance.

Personally mine is a lot heavier than more modern and smaller vehicles, along with the brakes needing more but it comes with the territory with a mig.

omega has servotronic power steering, this, as i understand it, means that the stearing gets heavier and hense less responsive at higher speeds while still allowing easy turning while parking etc. My old cdx had a problem with heavy steering all the time, but not so heavy that it felt like the power steering had failed,
 
 The problem in my case was that the servotronic power steering solenoid hand failed but at the time i thought could only be fully diagnosed by tech2, but i have since discovered on .here that codes can be flashed out by various means so worth searching that first, failling that pm the boy or Markdtm they have tech 2. If thats is the problem the solenoid was behind the glove box on my car and is in a bank of red and grey relay looking half inch square boxs. 90 sobs from dealer as i remember.

I have had a slow puncture on the n/s rear tyre, wonder if that could cause it.  Only notice it about a week ago.

looks like it was the puncture causing it, amazing really that a flat on the back would cause the steering to go slightly heavy. least its sorted now
