Bought a second hand projector headlight from e-gay and despite the description saying good working order the adjuster is bust

i've done a search through the forum and found a couple of great threads describing how to take the headlight apart and 'glue' the adjuster back together, just wondered weather the adjuster on the old old style lights is the same so i can knick it off the headlight i'm tying to replace?? :-?

also how exactly does the electric servo adjuster work - guess it moves the whole unit up or down to dip/raise?? so if it don't work it doesn't really matter?

They are not the same but you can use them in place of the black plastic ones and they are better as they dont break...

that sounds promising  - just means i got double duty with the hairdrier

I have heard that this has been done and the black adjusters are stronger than the white ones.

update

the seller has kindly offered a full refund with great comms   not ALL ebayers are bad after all

if i can fix adjuster will be very cheap upgrade

I too have brought a pair via eBay, and contrary to the description, the adjusters were broken on both of them, and also the mounting bits on the top were badly glued back together - this dispite being described as "In very good condition no broken adjusters"

Their listing mentions this forum, so I guess they are a member.

I am awating a reply, but if I don't get one I will start a dispute and post the details of the seller on here.

Right took the light apart today and gave the lens etc a good clean with 'Mr Sheen' and 'bounty'

Any ideas what to use to seal lights back together i.e. the black goo i had to heat up to get it apart? :question

not much left Mark as half of it was stuck to lense cover and has been soaking in a bath of bleach over night.

good old silicone it is then

Clip the lens back on and use your hairdryer / heat gun to soften any remaining sealant to make sure its fully home.
Then use a good bead of silicone to fill the gap between lens and housing to make sure no water can get in.
