Cruise Control - DBW
« on: 16 April 2008, 15:00:41 »

Hi Folks,

My Miggy ain't got cruise control at the mo, but I'm looking to rectify that!

I've located an indicator stalk with cruise control, but know that with my Miggy being DBW, it needs hooking up to Tech2.

Spoke to the main dealers, and they want 40-odd notes to do it!  :o  Is there any other way??

Cheers,

Yes, speak to TheBoy or MarkDTM on here. They both have Tech 2 and do such adjustments at much more reasonable rates.

£40 is not bad for tech2, some charge a lot more.

Unless you swing by Brackley or Nottingham, you will have to stump it up.

remember its 4 wire stalk you need (buy new, 2nd hand ones tend not to last), and probably clutch switch.

£40 isn't bad - quotes i had when setting our prices were 85 - 400, as well as a 'not possible'

Hi,
My motor is a 3.2 MV6 Auto estate ex Plod Diplomatic surveilance, no cruise control.

Do I understand correctly that if I buy a replacement cruise / indicator switch assembly, fit it , (is wiring in place) and have a trip to Brackley or Nottingham I could have cruise control ?? As simple and cheap as that ??

Hi,
Well that's it then. I shall be going for cruise control.

Does anyone have Vx part number and any other advice. I see a mention of 4 wire stalk, how many types are there for my Vx parts store to get confused with ??

Good luck.  I would pay twice that to get mine working (2.5 Petrol). VX did a tech 2 and could not find any fault, wanted another £105 to look into it further!
