just went and got my HBV along with 6l of the red stuff and a plastic door bushing with TC it was £39! good old Baylis!

is there any thing special i need to note or is it straight forward as this remove scuttle etc mark hoses and replace

I would only add - for meduim hands or larger, some Post HBV Changing antiseptic/painkilling cream for the multitude of scrapes and scratches

just removed the scuttle now and i reckon ive got enough access how much water will come out the hoses? as my landlord winjes about his  block paving getting soiled!

A few pints from memory. But it's all water soluble - can be rinsed away after.

did myn a couple of days ago, i found removing the metel braket over the wiper bar made life easier. 2 bolts under the screen rubber.

I did mine a couple of weekends ago. Take photos of the HBV area so that you know where all the pipes and things go. I've still got a vacuum pipe left over...

Also, if you haven't already got one, get the special tool for undoing the hose spring clips. (Bowden cable device with scissor type handle  with ratchet, get it off eBay). It makes life so much easier.

I use red rubber gardening gloves for all my car work. Cheap to buy, easy to clean with rags or Cif, tough, easy to take off for fiddly screws, throw away after a week or two. Saves all those scrapes and cuts, and keeps your hands clean for handling the interior etc. Keep your hands warm in winter, too.

Next tip -use a halogen bulbed head torch (eg Petzl, used for caving), with rechargeable batteries. Once you've tried and got used to it, you'll never do any car mechanics work without it on your head. On a cluttered engine bay such as a V6 Omega, it makes it so much easier to see things, especially in the shade of the bonnet or underneath.

..some good advice there
personally though I find the mini set of mole wrenches I bought more use in the tight spaces than the expense hose clamp tool that sits in my toolbox.
