Looks like early signs of precat failure, I would have expected P0420 / P0430 codes though so may be worth getting the lambda's checked / cleaned just in case.

Afraid it's nothing to do with oil etc, just that the precats aren't up to the job after a few years, don't worry though as the car will fly through an MOT as the main cats are well up to the job.

NB. that on 2.2 / 2.6 / 3.2 cars, the lamp with the picture of the engine is not engine management, it's emissions. If it's lit and stays lit the (the usual issue) then the ecu has just counted up to it's threshold level. Only worry if the lamp flashes.
The engine management lamp is the one with a picture of a car with the spanner through it.

I had  a good look under the car today, and there apear to be FOUR Lambda sensors. Two before the pre-cats, and two after. The two before the pre-cats look virtually impossible to get to, so in peoples opinion, and based on experience, which are most likely to be the culprits?

Thanks for all the feed back to this point by the way!

The Lambda's pre the precat are for mixture control.
