black and grey sealants
« on: 08 August 2008, 08:42:51 »

I know both are used in Omegas, but what are they really? Any possibility to get some corresponding Loctite etc? Could imagine that they are just some common instant gasket stuff commercially available... Can someone confirm?

i would imagine the black loctite stuff is very similar.
No idea about the grey, but i would not want to risk using another product  than the grew stuff for the oil cooler plate. Not worth the risk of having to do it again if it fails.

I think you could be refering to poly-urathane sealant  :-/ If so, do a search on ebay for Sika Flex. It comes in an array of colours. I used to work with this stuff some years back & my personal stock has almost depleted  :( else i'd send you some.
It has a shelf life, but i've used it past it's date & it's done what i needed it to. HTH

why - doesnt your dealer have them?  I would be inclined to use the real thing just to be sure.
