Hi Chaps

was driving from my girlfriends in Luton back to Oxford last night, took my car to 100mph and an orange light came on for 2 seconds and then went off when i slowed to 90mph, its never done it before....
i looked it up and its the "engine electronics" symbol
im scared to drive the bloody thing if i drive it fast again!
i recently had a new exhaust system put on, have been back 4 times to TYRERYTE in Cowley Oxford (Crescent Road)
the bloody thing keeps ratting and vibrating!
cost me £260 as rear box and 2 middle boxes needed replacing etc

i done the paperclip test and i got the following codes  

12 - 73 - 16 - 31

should i worry?
what do you think needs fixing or replacing ?

12  Diagnosis Initiated
73  Air Flow Sensor (Voltage Low)
16  Knock Sensor 1 (No Voltage Change)
31  Crankshaft Sensor (No Signal)
ignore the first two, 12 is the sequence starting, and 31 is because the engine is stopped. The next two could require sensors changing, however it the fault happened only once at over the ton, I would not worry. You may have to change a sensor at some tuime, but unless the car runs badly, I would leave it to develop. I shall prepare to stand corrected of course.

Wayne, I forgot to ask, did it misfire at all when it happened?

no misfiring at all buddy, still smooth at 90mph

The knock sensor one I would expect would cause it to retard and have little power, if its still a current fault.

Other than that, I would not be too concerned, but may be worth doing regular paperclip tests after you've used the car to see if anything changes.
