Lock for petrol cap cover stuck
« on: 29 August 2008, 01:04:04 »

Hi, has anyone had any problems with their petrol cap cover being stuck locked? Had to unscrew the lock from inside the car to get the cover opened to refuel my mig. The metal rod the moves in and out when you lock and unlock the car is solid and isn't moving.

Do these electronic locks go often on the petrol cap cover?

From the look of the one I removed, it had made in W Germany marked on it. Unsure but I guess it must be really old stock.

Anyone got an idea in how much it might cost for a new one?

Cheers

You tried a meter or test lamp across the wiring terminals to see if its getting power down to it?  May be able to suss whether its a fuse/wiring thing or if its the solenoid itself thats duff....
