Autobox Fluid Change
« on: 01 September 2008, 17:59:44 »

Right, Ive changed the oil & filter on the box and the gear change is a lot more smoother however it still hass not stopped the eratic gear change and the fact that it does not always like 3rd. There was no parts in the oil so guess thrust washer was fine.

Anyone got any ideas, do you think it could be the kickdown sensor on the accelerator cable as this is one of the few things I havent tried??

When I had problem with selector switch Gear changing was eratic but I had flashing lights at gear lever. Don't know if flashing always happens with selector switch fault, someone else can advise on that. :-/

No, no fault codes are coming up. Lights each gear accordingly and does not appear to put the wrong one on.

Its like it can use 1st, 2nd & fourth without any issues but always seems to skip third after about 1500 revs

The only problem with 1,2 & 4 is that it seems to select a gear change when not required and jumps up an ddown then settles in the gear it wants. Its as if it cant make its mind up??
