I feel for you spongebob. I had the same problem with my new employer. They paid me £180 instead of nearly £1000 this month first pay packet. After canceling all my direct debits with the bank (Natwest) and further digging (as the payroll department had said the Inland Revenue had stated that I hadn't paid enough income tax) and talking to my dad (who has an MBA in payroll) and giving him the figures he saw it straight away £808 minus £885 shows that I had only paid £77 in tax this year. So PAYROLL had only keyed in £77 not £771 thus £808 paid in Tax.
After showing this to my Manager and contacting payroll, payroll admitted there mistake and rectified the lack of wages immeadiatly and gave me a £500 advance until I get paid again at the end of the month. Result I thought then I have asked them to right an appology letter explaining that it was there clerical error (as my credit ratining will be screwed).  

Not good is it..I have put it down to a genuine mistake this time but if it happens again i will try to find the words im allowed to use on the forum to describe what will happen next ..

Same with me SB BUT they had a faxed copy then they were posted the originals so they didn't do there job properly.
