The heated rear screen is combined with the radio antenna. The most likely causes are that a connection to the heated rear screen is corroded or loose or a track on the rear screen has got a very small scratch in it and causing RF interference which is conducted back to the radio through the antenna connection.

Does the radio recover after the heated screen has been on for a while?

I havent tried to see if the radio comes back after having the screen on for a while. I will try it on the way to work, and see if the radio comes back after a while.

Also check the 0V connection for the screen (Which is what will be the most likely cause)
