Steering wheel removal ???
« on: 24 October 2008, 19:45:26 »

hi all............can any of you advise me on the removal of the steering wheel centre (airbag) on a facelift omega??
 - is it allen screws fixing the it to the wheel?? in order to take it off to undo the centre wheel nut ?

Also. while we're here.......if i put a smaller/sport sterring wheel on (non airbag), what do i do with the 'unwanted' airbag wires, and will the airbag light stay on on the dash???

many thanks in advance to you all    :y :y :y :y

air bag is held from the back with 2 torx screws, dont forget to disconnect battery first or youll get attacked by a giant marshmallow :D, dont know the answer to the airbag wiring but they sell after market steering wheels with some sort of patch lead for that purpose, ive no doubt someone will have the answer.

There are 2 bolts holding the airbag on...accessed with the wheel at 90 degrees from behind...as said disconnect power first...

If fitting non airbag steering wheel yes it will have airbag come on and stay on...may be ways to sort this as Tim says but not sure what they are...
