I've got a 2.5TD manual estate.
OOF lads fitted the chip at Newent meet. It's a totally different animal now, and I reckon better on fuel too. The poor low-revs performance is a thing of the past - and it cruises brilliantly in the upper 70's.
Boost comes in much lower down the rev range, although you get a tad of black smoke on initial acceleration. It's now much more 'driveable'

Mine chucks out more now than before I had it chipped.

Couldn't remember why I didn't like Sainsburys city diesel, now I do it really smokes on that stuff, so back to Asda or better Shell.

Just returned from weekend away TD is returning 37 mpg towing a caravan.

Not lightweight 1460kg but I'm beginning to think that can't be correct as I'm only going on what the computer read out says.
Just worked out my actual fuel usage and what it says I have left in the tank and I think I am more like 31 mpg........If yours is chipped do you believe the computer read out on your TD as being correct or does it seem out now it's chipped.

Not heard of a 24v 2.5TD in my experience, only 12v.  :-/

The differences between the TD's really only comes down to detail - as Kevin said, whether they are socketed or not.

It sounds as though you may have a "piggy back" box - not sure where that would link up on a TD
i thought there was only 12v aswell but i found this
http://media.gm.com/intl/opel/en/news/pr_old/pressrelease_180.htm
and this http://www.globalcar.com/datasheet/Opel/2002_Opel_Omega_2.5_DTI.htm

Never fitted to UK Omega. Date shows 2001 when the engine was introduced, this is when Vx started fitting their own 2.2 DTi.

Only the 12v version is in the Omega.

The common rail, multivalve Y25DT was only fitted to Opels (along with the 5 speed auto).

The chip has to match the ECU type, of which there are 4...
