morning - selector switch

morning ive just read that a guy have cleaned his  selector switch on his 02 2.2auto without dissconecting the wires or taking the whole thing off only the caseing covering it has anyone done this as the wires seem difficult dissconect cheers ajn

the first one i done i had to drop it down by undoing the 16mm nut & the 2x10mm bolts holding it in place, removed the torx screws to take the top off the switch, but for the sake of unclipping the connector from the side of the gearbox you are just as well to take it right out, i was the same as you at first thats why i done my first one in situ. ;)

thanks for the speedy response the wires seem to be so far up my hands wont fit in very well and i dont want to disconnect what i may not be able to reconnect :-/ ill have a better look with a brighter torch ajn
