Advice on Hand Brake cable change
« on: 27 January 2009, 13:33:38 »

The handbrake cable snapped on my Miggy today and so I need to change it.

Could anyone give me some guidelines on how is the best and easiest way to swap the old for new as I know it was quite tricky on my old vectra a few years back...

Thank you...

I would say give the heatshield nuts a good spray of plusgas in advance, they have a tendency to snap ::)

Im guessing this had happened on my elite at some point before I bought it, as the heatshields are now held on with self tappers, but removing the heatshields is a MUST.  ;)

As I have the tractor, I don't have a haynes manual as there isn't one made for it...  Do I need to drop the exhaust or prop shaft on it???  Stupid question I know...

Never done a tractor handbrake, but I wouldn't think so.
