climate control fault has anyone any ideas
« on: 02 February 2009, 23:22:09 »

hi. my problem is that the drivers side cc only blows cold, the passenger side is fine. do these cars have 2 heater matrix's or is there just one. if any one can give me any tips on what to do first it would be greatly appreciated.

i can set both temps no problem the display works fine it just blows cold constantly on drivers side. if i turn the aircon on it does get warmer but as soon as aircon is switched off it blows cold again

almost definately stepper motor arm as suggested by Chris, link tells you how to do passenger side, drivers side is mirrored, it's not a hard job, but is fiddly as space is tight, took me about 45mins to do mine, problem instantly cured.

the black plastic cover just pulls off, and then you can get fingers behind the motor and feel if the arm is tight or not, if it's flapping about, there's the problem.

it's worth doing it quickly as in this weather, it does make defrosting the windows much harder
